Dale Kelly

President & Chief Executive Officer

Dale joined POS in 2011, and brings more than 38 years experience in the value-added agri-food, R&D and bio-processing industries. He has a strong track record of business management and leadership, both from a start-up and turnaround situation. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Agriculture, Biotechnology, and Food Division at the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC). Prior to SRC, he served as President & CEO of AgraPoint International.

Rick Green, Ph.D.

President, Intellectual Capital Generation

Dr. Green joined POS in 1989, and brings to the team an extensive technical background in the extraction and purification of specialty oils, protein concentrates, protein isolates, and polyphenol compounds. He holds a Ph.D. in food and bio-product sciences from the University of Saskatchewan, as well as an M.Sc. and B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba. Dr. Green also serves on the board of the Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre.

Udaya Wanasundara, Ph.D., CFS

President, Global Ingredient Commercialization

Dr. Udaya Wanasundara joined POS in January 1999. His expertise is in science and technology of fats and oils and related materials.  Dr. Wanasundara carries extensive experience in extraction, isolation and purification of a wide range of macro- and micro-compounds of  plant and animal (land and aquatic) sources, and microbial biomass (algae, bacteria, fungi and yeast).  Research he carried out has led to  development of a variety of bioactives and ingredients  for nutraceuticals and functional foods, utilization of  lipid co-product streams, and enhancement of bioactivity and functionality of fatty acids and lipids through structural modification. His expertise extends further to  supercritical extraction and  processing and stabilization  of omega-3 high oils and fats. Dr. Wanasundara is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Algarithm, a subsidiary of POS. He holds a B.Sc. (Agriculture, Hon.) from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, as well as a M.Sc. (Food Science) and Ph.D. (Food Science) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada.

Grace Varga, CQM, CQA, MLT

Chief Operating Officer

Grace has 25 years of experience in quality assurance. Her rigorous attention to detail, unwavering focus on attaining the highest quality processes and products, and drive to ensure operations run effectively and efficiently make Grace an invaluable addition to the POS management team. She is also a natural leader, and a dedicated, driven profession who ensures projects are executed safely and with well-disciplined efficiency.

Grace came to POS Bio-Sciences in 2011 as Manager of Quality, Safety and Regulatory Affairs. In August 2013, Grace took on the role of Vice President, Operations and in late 2016 began her role as Chief Operating Officer.

Through Grace’s leadership, POS adopted LEAN practices in 2013 and has turn them into a well-disciplined process. Grace has a Certificate in Quality Management from the University of Manitoba, and a Quality Auditor Certification from the American Society for Quality.

Justin White

Vice-President Global Sales and Business Development

With a record of accelerating global growth and market share, P. Justin White is well-respected within the Customized Ingredients industry for deploying innovative tactics that spark triple-digit sales gains, expand international market footprints, and energize product development. Throughout his progressive, 19+-year career, Justin has consistently cultivated and motivated high-performance teams (in both linear and matrix environments) to launch new products/ingredients divisions and achieve aggressive goals.

Additionally, Justin possesses a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in New Venture Management, with an academic emphasis in international marketing, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, both from the University of San Diego.

Karen Letourneau

Director, Global Business Process

Karen Letourneau joined POS in 1990 and has gained extensive technical and continuous improvement experience while working in various departments within POS. Karen has a proven track record of driving internal teams towards process efficiencies and employee engagement.

Starting in 2018, Karen took on the role of Director, Global Business Process, where she is currently working on aligning business processes and metrics to the company vision.

Karen earned a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Saskatchewan and she received her Lean Blackbelt Certification in May 2018.  She has completed additional training in Laboratory Accreditation and QA for Analytical Laboratories, as well as being certified as a Quality Management System Auditor.

Celeste Tabor

General Manager, Batavia

Celeste Tabor has extensive operations experience in the dairy products, dietary supplements, food ingredients, and chemical processing industries. She has particular expertise in food and pharmaceutical facility design. Celeste has successfully managed internal and external technical teams to commercially produce FDA regulated drug substances and food ingredients with focus on innovation and operational excellence.

Most recently, Celeste was a Director of Engineering for a startup in Massachusetts, directing pilot to commercial scale-up of selective oligosaccharides for the microbiome. Celeste built and directed a production pilot plant team producing liquid and powder products for animal toxicology and human trials. She has extensive leadership experience with a strength in guiding, collaborating, and influencing teams across the functions of research, production, quality, and management. Celeste has developed a proprietary process under patent protection to manufacture highly viscous liquid. She has successfully built her career around the convergence of her strategic approach to management and her technical research best practices.

Celeste earned a B.S in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University. She completed Bell Leadership program and has certifications in tablet coating manufacturing, pasteurization, and member of ASQ.

Ory McClelland

HR, Business Development Partner

Ory joined POS in 2018. He has worked in the agriculture, logistics, and construction industries over his 10+ year career. Ory has strong business acumen and a solid track record of integrating HR strategy with business strategy through all stages of the business life cycle. Ory graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, Edwards School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Human Resources. He holds the Chartered Professional in Human Resources and National Construction Safety Officer designations.
