POS Pilot Plant has been providing confidential analytical services to bioprocessing organizations for over 3 decades.

Primary Analytic Capabilities:

  • Analysis on multiple matrix types (seeds, oils, meals and processed materials), utilizing accepted methodologies from AOCS, AOAC, ISO, IUPAC, ASTM, AACC and internally developed methods.
  • Analysis quality is monitored both internally and through a variety of national and international test programs.

Areas of analysis covered include:

  • Moisture, oil content, fat composition, fat quality, antioxidants, proteins, sugars and elemental, fibre and other analyses.
  • Other services available include method development, nutritional labeling analysis, damaged oil studies and oil preservation studies.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  1. Standard reporting time for routine analysis is 10 working days.
  2. "Rush" Analysis is available at a 75% surcharge rate, results are reported in 4 working days. AOM or OSI (Rancimat) tests are not eligible for "Rush" analysis due to the nature of the test. "Priority Rush" reporting may be available (results reported in 2 working days at 100% surcharge) by prior arrangement with POS Laboratory Services. Please enquire before submitting "Priority Rush" samples."
  3. All prices are in Canadian dollars and exclude applicable taxes.
  4. Discounts may be possible for large volumes, please enquire.
  5. Inquire for other official methods not listed, or for contract method development/ verification.
  6. An additional charge may be incurred if other significant sample preparation is required.
  7. Results corrected for moisture content will require moisture analysis (please supply an additional 10 g sample).
  8. Results corrected for oil content will require oil content analysis (please supply an additional 10 g sample).
  9. In cases where sample is limited, we may be able to work with less sample, please enquire.
  10. Samples sent in should be representative of the material sampled.
  11. When sending in samples: please use the POS sample submission form, or a reasonable substitute.
  12. When sending in samples across the border, assign "No commercial value, the goods are destined for crushing, processing/analysis and will be delivered free of charge, value for customs purposes only CAD 1.00 per Kg. For R&D purposes only".
  13. Sample sizes given are approximate the minimum required to perform the test, larger sample sizes are preferred.
  14. Please ensure that sample integrity is preserved during shipping.
  15. There will be an additional charge of $25 applied to Non- Canadian clients in order to offset the wire-transfer charges deducted by the financial institutions before monies are paid to POS Pilot Plant Corp.
  16. Canadian clients are responsible for the wire transfer charges on transactions, POS does not currently accept credit card payments.
  17. Preliminary reports will be sent by one method only, either fax or email.
  18. Hard copy reports will be mailed with the invoice.
  19. Please forward your invoice from POS to your accounting department, upon receipt.
  20. Following analysis:
    Samples are stored at ambient temperature for 2 months, then disposed of.
    Samples perishable at room temperature will be disposed of after analysis is completed.
    Samples will be returned to the Client only when requested, the Client will be responsible for all associated shipping charges..
