POS Supports Tomorrow’s Science Leaders

POS is proud to support this year’s ScienceTrek Program which will be offered to Grade 8 students in Saskatoon Public Schools.

“We are delighted to support this worthwhile program and give back to our community,” said Dale Kelly, President & CEO of POS. “We also see this program as an opportunity to invest in the future. POS and its clients will need bright people to develop the brilliant solutions of tomorrow. This program is a chance to engage young people in science, at an early age, and encourage them to pursue science as a discipline and career.”

ScienceTrek is a field-based science program created to inspire grade eight students to grow academically, socially, personally and culturally. The program features ‘hands on’ out of school experiences intended to fuel a passion for science and learning.

Participating students will be invited to visit POS and tour its facilities. In addition, POS scientists and engineers will work with students directly as they prepare for the Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2013, the Sanofi BioGENEius Challenge is a national, biotechnology-focused science competition that exposes high school and CEGEP students to career possibilities and reveals the breadth of endeavour that makes up the bio-economy.

“We look forward to welcoming these students to POS and hope that their time with us sparks a lifelong interest and commitment to bio-sciences,” Kelly said.
