What is your job title?
Vice President Business Development and Principal Scientist

How long have you been working at POS?
I have been working at POS since January 1999, now 18.5 years.

What do you enjoy most about working at POS?
Working with multiple clients and multiple projects, the dynamic nature of the work and the situations.

What attracted you to this industry in general and POS in particular?
POS is a Global leader in innovation and contract R & D in ingredients for nutritional supplements, food, feed and personal care. POS provided a significant contribution to develop Omega-3 oils and natural antioxidants, and this matches very well with my educational background and research experience.  By joining POS I was able to apply my knowledge and skills with great confidence to the projects carried out at POS.

How would you describe your experience of working at POS? How does it compare to previous roles you’ve had?
POS was my first career opportunity after graduating with a doctoral degree (Ph.D). I started my career as a junior Scientist and never thought I would stay this long.  The working environment and challenges at POS didn’t allow me to think about other opportunities and now I have a hard time imaging working anywhere else. POS has allowed me to engage with industries at different levels, from startups to multinationals, as well as helped me in establishing myself with the global business network of food, nutritional supplements and many more. The innovation phase of the projects requiring process and product development is highly challenging, but the encouragement is the end result which  benefits the industry and the products that feed the world.

If you were CEO, what would be the first thing you’d do to make POS even better?
As a Global leader in innovation and contract R &D, I would focus on expanding (branching out) POS to other parts of the world that has expanding markets for nutritional supplements and natural products-based applications. Also invest and encourage internal R&D to enhance intellectual capital of POS.

What types of projects do you work on at POS?
Any projects related to Fats and Oils, and biomass processing, starting from lab to production scales. Now, my main focus is developing more business opportunities for POS and spending more time dealing directly with our clients, helping them to understand and work out new processes for new products.
