Commercializing Native Fruits of Saskatchewan

Posted on Oct 17, 2013

Rick Green, Ph.D. and Vice-President Technology for POS Bio-Sciences, has recently been involved in a study examining fresh approaches to the commercialization of native fruits to Saskatchewan. This study is published in the October 16, 2013, edition of the Canadian Journal of Plant Science.

The study looks mainly at development of buffalo berry, chokecherry and sea buckthorn and the potential to make these fruits commercially viable for consumption all over the world. This is exciting news for POS and Saskatchewan as it could mean the growth of the product development and farming production of these fruits in the province.

The Saskatoon StarPhoenix also covered the story drawing on Rick’s expertise and contributions to the study.

Rick is one of many people who make POS a world-leader in bioprocessing and bio-products commercialization. Well done and thank you Rick!
