Project Leader/ Scientist (Entry Level)

POS Pilot Plant Corp. currently requires an entry level Project Leader/Scientist with a solid technical background in extraction technology. Preference will be given to those applicants with experience in Fats and Oils Chemistry and/or the bioprocessing industry.

The successful candidate will participate in project work which will range in technical complexity from lab scale to pilot plant programs involving unit operations relevant to the extraction and purification of bio-based ingredients (algae, yeast, oilseeds, pulses, cereals and other plant material).

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to: drafting proposals, consulting with clients, designing programs involving lab experimentation, pilot scale processing and analytical method identification, and preparing timely documentation.

Candidates for this position will possess either (or a combination of) a M.Sc., or a Ph.D. from a recognized university in either a life sciences related field, applied chemistry or engineering. A high degree of both problem solving and leadership are essential, along with a proven track record of quality consultation and professionalism. Knowledge of GMP, GLP and HACCP would be an asset.

This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, planning skills, multi-tasking, proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
